give me a minute to process this

Well, the fact that the trailer alone has me in tears is a good sign, but I’m cautiously optimistic. I had pictured Oskar completely different. Either way, I’m super excited for this movie!

I was less… surprised? … by Oskar and more surprised by Tom Hanks. When reading the book (multiple times), I pictured this character completely differently from Tom Hanks. Hope he surprises me the right way.

But my bigger, I don’t know, concern[?] about this trailer is I feel the book was so full of humor and even comedy, but this trailer presents this as a straight up character drama. I loved The Hours and Billy Elliot, so I must trust that he can capture the same humor that is essential to this book in the film as he did with those two films.

This post didn’t really need to be this long. I just really love this book.
